Grants to Teachers application period: August 11 - September 29, 2023
Grants have been awarded for learning tools such as math manipulatives, materials to help students correct speech sounds, art supplies to teach students about the lives and artistic styles of some of our successful local artists, sensory equipment for students with special needs, and high tech equipment including iPad Minis, software, and much, much more.
These grants are possible because of our faithful and charitable sponsors, the dedicated and generous teachers, principals, and administrators of SAISD and the hard work of the SASF board members.
Grants to Teachers applications are NOW OPEN!
Deadline is September 30, midnight.
Since May of 2002, the Foundation has awarded over $115,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors with dreams and potential. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $500. Funded primarily through payroll deduction of SAISD teachers, this award is determined by a committee of the SASF board and community volunteers.
The list of Scholarship funds and Scholarship applications can be accessed at the San Angelo Area Foundation website from January 1st to March 1st. We are proud of our SAISD seniors and wish them all the best!

Attention all SAISD Teachers and local Non-Profits!
San Angelo Schools Foundation is excited to announce a new opportunity to give back even more to the students and teachers of SAISD. In addition to our Grants to Teachers program, we are launching another avenue of giving out funds called “Bright Ideas Initiative”. What differentiates Bright Ideas Initiative program from the Grants to Teachers program is that application is open year round or as long as funding is available, and larger amounts of money can be given out if the submitted project is chosen. SASF is looking for ideas that are truly out of the box “experiences”, ideas that go beyond the typical classroom setting.
We are also looking for local non-profits, businesses and other organizations that may be willing to partner with us to help offer more opportunities for students.
We encourage the community to get involved with this new endeavor that has already enriched the lives of many SAISD students. They are our future and we look forward to helping inspire them on their educational journey!
Applications for the Bright Ideas Program are CLOSED.
